Yeah, the city owns the harbor, and they decided that they can get twice as many boats paying fees if they used helix screws to moor 20-foot sections of dock, then have two boats tie up to them. At the same time they tripled the mooring permit rates. I think it's $25 a foot for mooring space now.
Of course, compared to what I pay for the slip, that's chump change.
