My boat is repaired!
Today I stopped down the boatyard to inspect the repairs. They had a hell of a time getting the old teak toerail off, and when the tried to bend the new piece to screw it in, it broke. They had to make another.
This is the boat in the paint shed. Now they'll cover it and put it back in the yard, where it will sit for another 10-12 weeks, hopefully staying dry when it snows.
Then it's pre-season prep time...fun!
The boat is in the shop
Finally, seven months after the collision that caused the damage in the photo below, my boat is getting fixed.
It took five months to get the repair approved, but since the damage didn't prevent us from using the boat this season, there was no rush. Then another 6 weeks after hauling out for the yard to schedule repairs. Now it's being fixed in the Port Milford shop.
I'll post photos after it's repaired and covered. Boy, I'll be glad when this is over...only a few more months, then it's "go time" for the new season!
Happy New Year
It's 2006, and we're working on the boat for the coming season.
Only four more months and we'll be back in the water! Yeeah!
