2008 was a great year for Full Tilt. We won a few big races, and performed well in a few others. Our crew improved significantly and we're getting the boat moving better than ever!
We also cruised extensively, spending many nights on our mooring at Port Jefferson, along with anchoring in various places such as Watch Hill, Block Island, New London, Northport, Branford, and Mattituck.
I logged a total of 52 days on the water this season, including 4 races on "Wild Eyes". This wasn't a record; in 2006 and 2007 we did 64 days on the boat. But considering both mine and Joyce's work schedules were much busier, we did really good.
2009 is here, and we're already preparing for the new season. I'm going down to the yard later today to sweep the snow off the cover (to keep it from collapsing), and we're working on plans for spring outfitting and an early May launch.
In the meantime, here's a video from a couple years ago that I finally uploaded. It shows Full Tilt racing home through lumpy seas after a weekend at PJ. Even in the crappy weather, doesn't it look like fun?
